Today, on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the MaxxTow Ball Mount with two inch accessory receiver for two inch hitches with a two and one quarter of an inch drop rated at 5,000 pounds, part number MT70066. Before we begin our test fit, we'll first need to obtain the hitch height of our vehicle. The hitch height is the measurement form the ground to inside top of the receiver tube. The hitch height for this vehicle is 13 inches. Keep in mid this measurement may vary due to tire size, hitch style, or other after market accessories. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch and securing it with a pin and clip. We can then measure form the ground to the top of the ball platform, getting a measurement of about 11 inches. If your vehicle's hitch height matches ours and your trailer's ride height matches this measurement, this would be an appropriate ball mount for you. This ball mount is a great way to carry a bike rack or a cargo carrier while towing your small boat or trailer. Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Draw-TiteBall Mount with the 3/4-inch rise or 2-inch drop rated at 7500 pounds, part number 2923. Before we begin our test fit, we'll first need to obtain the hitch height of our vehicle. The hitch height is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. The hitch height of this vehicle is 13 inches. Keep in mind this measurementmay vary due to tire size, hitch style, or other after market accessories. We'll now begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch and securing it with a pin and clip. We'll then measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform, getting a measurement of about 10-1/2 inches. If the hitch height of your vehicle matches the hitch height of our vehicle and your trailer's ride height matches this measurement, this should be an appropriate ball mount for you. We can then flip the ball mount over into the rise position and again measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform, getting a measurement of about 13-3/4 inches. more

Now well go ahead and slide the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, and secure it with a pin and clip. Well then measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and get a measurement of 8 inches. more

Were going to start off our test fit by getting a measurement from the top of the receiver tube down to the ground for reference point. Our measurement is going to be 11 inches. Well take our ball mount and go ahead and install it in the hitch and secure it with a hitch pin. Since our ball mount is going to have the same height as the hitch measurement because its straight. Well get a measurement on top of the hitch ball and also ground clearance measurement as well. more

Now, before we begin our installation well need to get our hitch height measurement. To get this measurement well measure from the ground to the top of the receiver tube opening. On this vehicle it is 12 inches. Now keep in mind this measurement can change depending on hitch style, tire size or any other accessory that may change your vehicles ride height. Its a good idea to go ahead and measure yours first. more
